Transworld recently attended the IFMA Upstate South Carolina Chapter Luncheon. The meeting’s educational topic was Arc Flash and was presented by Thomas Bucher, PE. This topic of Arc Flash relates directly to Transworld’s TEGG electrical hazard detection service.

TEGG is an electrical hazard detection service that provides customized solutions that will suit each business’s individual needs and help businesses avoid unplanned power outages and electrical fires. TEGG coincides with the NFPA 70B Standards, which details preventive maintenance for electrical, electronic, and communication systems and equipment, that helps prevent equipment failures and worker injuries. These innovative services provided by TEGG are important when achieving the necessary requirements for your facility to become Arc Flash Compliant.

TEGG Professional Consultant, Jeff Buekema attended the luncheon last week and enjoyed Thomas Bucher, PE.’s Arc Flash presentation.

“Bucher gave a good presentation on the fundamentals of Arc Flash and discussed the risks and remedies associated with Arc Flash events. During the presentation he shared a video of a category 1 Arc Flash explosion in a 3 phase 277 volts panel. This video highlighted that Arc Flash events can occur in low voltage equipment.”
