Success Story : North Myrtle Beach Aquatic Center

Transworld is dedicated to providing quality service that creates value to all our customers. Recently, there’s been a lot of news regarding the advantages and benefits of LED lighting. LED, light emitting diodes, lighting is said to be the most exciting technological advancement in the lighting industry. LEDs are small, solid light bulbs which are extremely energy efficient and long lasting. When you compare LED to other traditional energy-saving illumination methods, you will find that LED lighting is by far the most power-saving and smart solution. LEDs use at least 75% less energy, and last 25 times longer than incandescent lighting. In addition, LED lights are ecologically friendly. They are free of toxic chemicals and are 100% recyclable. Transworld is aware of the benefits that LED lighting produces and we encourage LED upgrades. Transworld was recently able to demonstrate these saving to our customers through the lighting upgrade at the North Beach Aquatic Center.

The North Myrtle Beach Aquatic Center was interested in reducing their maintenance cost and high energy bills. Their lighting was located over the pool area which made it extremely difficult and expensive to maintain. The new LED lighting extended the lights life for 5x longer, which reduced maintenance, and the wattage reduction was nearly 75%, which greatly helped reduce the utility bill. Another benefit was the better visibility and crisp and clear the light new light fixtures created. A lighting upgrade can be considered an expensive investment but this project expects a 1.8 year return on investment. Furthermore, North Myrtle Beach was able to obtain a rebate from Santee Cooper to help cover a portion of the lighting project. This renovation has inspired the City of North Myrtle Beach to continue to update other areas of the facility and other building in the city.
