Water Environmental Association of South Carolina (WEASC) is a community of professionals who protect our state’s water environment so that this most precious resource can be preserved for generations to come. WEASC Members include water distribution professionals, collection and treatment professionals, engineers, regulators, and product suppliers who all work together to provide professional development and networking opportunities for water professionals in South Carolina.
Over the past few years Transworld, Inc. Electrical Contractors has had the opportunity to attend and sponsor the Annual WEASC Operator’s Conference. We understand the importance of clean drinking water and that an effective wastewater treatment is a vital service needed in all communities. As the use of electricity continues to increase in water and wastewater treatments due to the rising demand for expanded service capacity and new regulations for upgraded treatment, we want to ensure their electrical distribution systems are operating effectively and according to NFPA 70E and OSHA safety standards.
During the WEASC Operator’s Conference TEGG Professional Consultant, Jeff Beukema, presented to over 200 water professionals on the importance of EDPM (electrical distribution preventive maintenance) and asset management and how this directly impacts the reliability and safety of their water and wastewater treatment plant. OSHA considers electrical hazards as one of the fatal four violation in the workplace and we are working to educate the member of WEASC on organized strategies that can increase the reliability and safety of their plant while also improving fiscal sustainability and reduce maintenance costs.
