Children’s village at Magnolia Plantation
From November 26th to New Year’s Eve, Magnolia Plantation becomes a wonderful Christmas escape for kids and their families, with a life-size Christmas village. Visit Magnolia Plantation website to see all their events, many are even free with garden admission.
Holiday Magic at Marion Square
From the tree lighting ceremony and the festive holiday farmer’s market to visits with Santa and Mrs. Claus, December is a great time to adventure around the festively decorated Marion Square.
Holiday Festival of Lights
A Lowcountry tradition, The Holiday Festival of Lights is open every evening, rain or shine, from Nov. 9 to Jan. 1, 2019. Drive through the over 2 miles of light displays and then explore the Winter Wonderland with marshmallow roasting, train rides, old-fashioned carousel, gift shops and entertainment on select evenings.
The City of Charleston, North Charleston, Summerville, and Mount Pleasant all host their own annual Holiday Parade. Each parade features their own unique traditions to help celebrate the holiday season, you can go to one or all four!
Parade of Boats
Gather on the shores of the Charleston harbor to watch boats of all shapes and sizes decorated for the holiday season. The Parade of Boats on Saturday, Dec. 8 begins about 5 p.m. on the Mount Pleasant side of the Cooper River and ends on the Ashley River about 7:30 p.m.
