It’s Hurricane Season in the low country and we want everyone to be prepared. The South Carolina Emergency Management Division has created a public education campaign that informs citizens and visitors of South Carolina about the new hurricane evacuation zones and their vulnerability to storm surge. The South Carolina Emergency Management Division has also created an Emergency Management Department (EMD) App that has many functions that can assist citizens during a hurricane: emergency information, shelter locations, neighborhood distribution points, special events information, closing, daily weather, family emergency plans, and contact numbers. The App can be downloaded in the appropriate app store on your phone and be searched using CCEMD.
